This is my first post so I feel giddy with excitement! Writing has been a love of mine like forever and having to share what I write is a pleasure. I'd love your opinions and I enjoy reading too, so do leave a comment along with your blog address if you have one.
It’s not news that we've had Holly Wood stars and others rocking African Print on stage or on the red carpet. Doesn't it just make you proud? A- listers like Beyonce, Kelis, Gwen Stefani, Nicki Minaj, Fergie and Kimora Lee have donned our African Prints and made it look fabulous.

Thanks to African designers like Deola Sagoe, Jewel by Lisa and many others, the ankara trend has never looked more sophisticated and world class!
But that's not the gist. I was more surprised to see top foreign designers like Prada, D&G and some clothiers showcasing African print inspired fabrics in their collections. These are 2011 collections!

So what does it say? It says Africa fashion is gaining waves in the world market and it will continue to do so. Or what do you think? Either ways, keep rocking African looks in Ankara, 'adire' (tie & die) and aso oke. They are simply fab! Don't just get them in clothing; get them in accessories, furniture and decor as well.
I'm proud to be African! :D
Oh that's not all, there are a few trends that are ‘must haves’ in your wardrobe right now! So get your shopping list ready.
Sunray pleats
Sunray pleats are closely knitted pleats and they are a fab trend right now. I used to look at 80s catalogues with these pleats and think they were weird. Now I must say they are totally chic! Wear them as blouses, dresses, skirts and more.
The off shoulder
Off shoulders are very vintage! Wear them as blouses, dresses, play suits and jump suits, especially when you’ve got blemish free back and shoulders to pull it off.

Flared skirt
One of my favourites. I love them short! Wear them partying or to the beach. Dress them up with tanks or blouses. You can tuck your tops into them and add a stylish belt. Love love love!
