Style Question on Fashion and Style

When we were younger, we didn't care about our panty line showing under our dresses or skirts. Till we realized that it wasn't very cool. So we switched to several ways of keeping it hidden. But we still see visible panty lines here and there, don't we?

So here's today's style question. 

Is Visible Panty Line (vpl) still a fashion crime or is it now acceptable?
