The perfect hairstyle for your face shape

It can be quite a task choosing a hairstyle that suits you. An easy way to do this is to know your face shape. How do you do that?

There are 4 basic face shapes and your face shape will most likely fall into one of these categories which include,
Oval shape
Square shape
Round shape
Heart shape

Although, there are a few other shapes but most face shapes fall into this basic category.

Get out your tape rule let's measure and write down the results. Measure the width of your eyebrows (the space right above your eyes), the width of your cheekbones (the cheek area), the width of your jaw (that's your jaw line) and the length of your face (that's from forehead to chin). Use your measurement to determine your face shape below.

Oval- for the oval face, the width of your eyebrows, the cheek bones and jawline are almost equal. This can also be categorized with the long face.

Square- for the square, the width and length are equal or close to equal.

Round- for the round shape the width is almost as long as the length and your forehead and jaw are curved.

Heart- for the heart shape, the eyebrow line and is wider than the jawline

Some faces do not have a clearly defined shape. They may fall into 2 categories at the same time. So if you notice that about your face, you are not an alien. Lol. Also, just in case you have not been able to determine your face shape with the measurement, take a look at these celebrities and ask someone to help you determine which one of the celebs' face shape look like yours.

Hairstyles
So now that you have taken steps to determine your face shape, here are the hairstyles that fit them.

Oval shaped face
1. Try a bob hairstyle. A bob that hits right at the collarbone with a side fringe is perfect just like Carrie Underwood's.
2. Shoulder length straight hair like Ashley Greene's
3. Shoulder length wavy hair with a side part and side fringe like Yvonne Nelson's
4. Below shoulder length full fringe like Taylor Swift's.

For a square face
The square face can be a bit tricky because it is angular. The idea is to pick soft hairstyles that are in contrast with the edginess of the face.
1.A bit of a wavy bob that stops at the chin like Keira Knightley's
2.Shoulder length tousled hair like Rachel McAdams's
3.Below shoulder length straight hair like Demi Moore's

For a round face
1. Try a below shoulder length wavy hair with side part and a side fringe like Omotola Jalade's
2. Below shoulder length hair with center part like Mocheddah's
3.Pixie hair cut (very short) with a tiny side fringe like Ginnifer Goodwin's
4. A layered and angled bob that is shorter at the back and longer at the sides like Christin Dunst's

Heart shape
1. The pixie (short) spiky hairstyle like Halle Berry's
2. Pixie hair (short) with small side fringe like Genevieve Nnaji's
3. Bob with curls at the bottom like Genevieve Nnaji's
4. Shoulder length wavy hair with side fringe like Reese Witherspoon's
.

Hope this has been helpful to you?
